Duplicate ID error in Scoutbook

Scoutbook requires the Scouts BSA member ID to be entered into their profile for Advancement Sync to be turned on. Sometimes a duplicate Scoutbook account is created instead of moving the Scoutbook account into a new Troop or Pack. Historically this has happened a lot when a boy turns 11 and moves from Webelos Cub Scouts Den into the 11-year old Scouts patrol of the Boy Scouts troop.

If you encounter a Scout where Scoutbook says that another Scout in the system already has that member ID, first go to:

My Dashboard -> Administration -> My Account -> My Connections

and see if there is a duplicate Scout there that had been deleted. If so, you can click on them, edit their profile and remove the Member ID. Otherwise, send an email with the details to: scoutbook.support@scouting.org. Include the Scout’s name, member ID and your unit information and council name.
